Youth Ethics Table: From Passion to Action

The Program

Session #1: Voicing Your Values

In our kick-off session, students explored the values that motivate their passion. Students participated in an interactive workshop about Gen Z and ethics led by the Prindle Institute for Ethics, as well as heard from keynote speaker Alvin Irby and Changemaker Award Recipient Marley Dias. The evening ended with a special performance from Broadway performer Lauren Patten!

Session #2: Finding Common Ground

This session focused on understanding different perspectives and engaging in difficult conversations. We heard from our Changemaker Award Recipient Jason Y. Lee (Jubilee Media) about promoting empathy through storytelling, and participated in a "Choose Your Own Ethical Adventure" activity, led by our very own Youth Advisors! The evening ended with an “Ethics AMA” with Andy Cullison, and a performance by high school students from Frank Sinatra School of the Arts!

Session #3: Taking Action

In our final session, it's time to take action! We heard from incredible youth leaders Dustin Liu, Meera Dasgupta, and Nia White on a panel moderated by CNN’s Rachel Janfaza, and attended breakout workshops led by partner organizations like Diversify Our Narrative, USA-UNA, Films BYkids, NYC Votes, about how young people can take action given their unique interests. The evening wrapped up with two special performances from Changemaker Meera Dasgupta and high school student Mateo Lizcano!
